Bernward Mechanical Names New Chief Executive Officer

Carl Neimeyer, Founder of Bernward Mechanical & Construction Solutions is proud to announce the appointment of Chris Taylor as the Chief Executive Officer.

Bernward is excited to welcome Chris’ leadership as the company transitions to its next phase of growth and client engagement. Chris Previously was Bernward’s VP of Business Development. Chris is a native of Annapolis, Maryland and now resides in Severna Park, Maryland with his wife and two children.


Chris has over 25 years of experience in business management, finances, engineering, and government contracting. Chris is a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, having served as a Combat Engineer Officer. He is a graduate of U.S. Army Ranger School and is an Army Jumpmaster. After his time on active duty, he gained valuable business experience working with start-ups and Fortune 100 companies. During his time in the private sector, Chris became a licensed Professional Engineer and founded his own business to serve clients in Maryland, Virginia, and New Jersey in the areas of environmental site design, storm water management, and construction management. Chris then served for 12 years as a DOD Civilian, including five and a half years in Northern Italy. In his last position with the Navy, he provided oversight of $750 million of annual construction on naval installations throughout Maryland, DC, and Northern Virginia.


Carl Neimeyer said, “Chris is the right person at the right time to be taking over as our new CEO. Bernward needs good, strong leadership for our next phase of growth and that is exactly what Chris provides. I have known Chris as a highly respected professional for many years and he quickly demonstrated how much value he brings to Bernward in his previous position.” Carl elaborated, “Chris represents the strong values that Bernward is based on, including integrity and a sense of service. Chris builds upon Bernward’s proud tradition of hiring exceptionally talented Veterans, which has helped Bernward be recognized as Maryland’s Veteran-Owned Small Business of the Year.”

Carl will continue his active involvement in Bernward with the new title “Founder & Chief Visionary Officer”. He will continue to be engaged with the people and companies we serve. Additionally, Carl’s strong relationships with our local Union partners and industry associations have been a key to Bernward’s success and he looks forward to building those strong ties.


Court Sawyer will continue directing Bernward’s execution success as our Chief Operating Officer. Bob Campbell will continue providing his vast knowledge and experience as our Chief Financial Officer.
